Installing Euraffiliates
Euraffiliates is written in PHP but to Euraffiliates no PHP knowledge is required. You even never need to open/edit a configuration file. However, you must be able to upload files via FTP software and enter the FTP, database, software settings values correctly through webforms.
Ideally the total process should not take more than 30 minutes (including file upload). However, on an unlikely event, you may need to install ioncube loaders (if it is not there already) and you may have to invest some more time or seek help of your server people.
Installation Steps
- Download the latest Euraffiliates source from http://www.euraffiliates.com/download/eue2.4.1.zip if not done yet
- Keep your website FTP access info ready with you. You will need to upload the zip file. You will be asked to enter the FTP username and password during setup process.
- Create a blank MySQL database to store affiliate data. Create a MySQL user to use the database. You can do it through your hosting control panel. Keep the database access details with you (Db Name, Db Host, Db UserName and Db Password).
- Unzip the zip file. You will see 2 items. eue.2.4.1.src.zip and the "setup" folder
- Connect your website through FTP and create the installation folder (e.g. ../affiliates) at your website web_root directory and upload the zip file and the setup folder onto the install_dir.
- Launch your browser and run the setup wizard URL at script http://www.yourwebsite.com/affiliates/setup/ (This URL will be different for you depending on the domain and install_dir name). The system will check the system requirements and then ask you to move forward. If your server is not installed with ioncube loaders you will be instructed to install that first. In this case you may need help from your server people.
- Follow the screen instruction and installation and move on until you reach the account optimisation map. You will asked to enter your FTP info, database info, edition info (pro, basic or inhouse-network), admin info, basic program settings, merchant settings and commission settings in different steps.
- Once the basic installation is done, follow the account optimisation map to personalize your merchant account. You can find the link at top right corner and below the top menu. This will guide you through out your affiliate journey to improve your setup.
- This will install the trial version of the software. When you buy, please ask for a valid licence and place new licence file at /licence folder.
- Once you have setup everything delete the "setup" folder alongwith all its files.
- Any problem, try afresh or contact Euraffiliates at http://www.euraffiliates.com/contact-us.php and create a support ticket
If you are not comfortable with managing FTP and Hosting Control Panel, please ask your developer(who wrote your website) to install it for you. |

 I was nervous about not going with one of the other major packages like Idev or Affpro, but I knew we needed a firm that was "hungry" and would get their hands dirty - I knew from past experience and other feedback those two were stretched thin.  Net Lawman used two other major affiliate programmes before Euraffiliates, MyAffiliatePro and Idev. The first was simply too expensive for a small start-up. The second was unable to cope with the demands of our sites and of our affiliates.
We may be biased (the two companies have a common owner) but the software does exactly what we need it to do.
